A boosted post is the most basic form of advertising you can do on Facebook.

Boosted posts aren’t created in Ads Manager and don’t have all of the same juicy customization features.

Boosted posts were designed to be less intimidating to small business owners who were overwhelmed by the full ads system and all the options it offered.

Objectives like lead generation, in-store visits, and conversions (to name a few).

Choosing your objective early on will help you focus on what you want your outcome (the campaign) to be — whereas boosted posts only allow the basics like post engagements or page likes.

This is significant because Facebook uses your chosen objective to show your ad to users who are most likely to take whatever action you’re optimising for, based on their user history.
