“This trial means more time with our loved ones...”

Breakthrough Cancer Research today launched the MELODY Trial at Cork University Hospital. Developed by Dr Emer Lynch through a Breakthrough Clinical Cancer Research Fellowship, the trial will explore whether a simple blood test, known as a liquid biopsy, can identify genetic changes in advanced breast cancer and provide additional information that could help inform more personalised treatment decisions.

A heartfelt thank you to Aislinn for speaking so openly in today’s Irish Examiner about her experience of living with advanced breast cancer and her hopes for the future of personalised treatment.

Aislinn is also part of the patient advisory group involved in MELODY, sharing her perspective to help make patient information more accessible.

Ahead of World Cancer Research Day on 24 September, Aislinn’s story is a reminder of the importance of continued investment in cancer research and in the clinicians and researchers developing it.

We are over the moon following last Friday’s PRCA Spotlight Awards. We’re incredibly proud to see our purpose-led communications recognised alongside our incredible clients.
Thrilled that our client Breakthrough Cancer Research won Best Earned Media (Medium to Long Term Campaign) for their Cancer Revolution: Science, Innovation and Hope exhibition. By fusing scientific expertise with human stories, the campaign welcomed 15,000+ visitors and drove a 50% year-on-year fundraising increase. 🔬🏆

Adding to the celebration, we were also Highly Commended in our other two shortlisted categories:

Best Charity / Not-for-Profit Campaign with Breakthrough Cancer Research.

Best Contribution to Client Goals through a PR Event with NCODA for the Inaugural Global Oncology & Haematology Congress, which successfully elevated the vital role of pharmacy within integrated cancer care on a global platform. 💊

had a great night having been shortlisted for Best PR Campaign at the AIMs awards for our campaign for ‘Cancer Revolution: Science, Innovation and Hope’ with our client partner Breakthrough Cancer Research. We had a fun evening celebrating with the extended team and it was great to catch up with friends in other agencies too.
