Are ads now showing inside ChatGPT?

A lot of customers have been asking us recently whether ChatGPT has started showing ads.

The answer is: **yes, but only in a very limited test at the moment.**

OpenAI started testing ads in ChatGPT on **February 9th, 2026**. This is not a full global rollout. It is currently a pilot programme.

Right now, ads are only being shown to some users in the **United States**, mainly on the **Free** plan and the **Go** plan.
