Who do you know that has a business with a credit card machine? What if you gave them a hundred euro if you cannot get them a better deal, do you think they would talk to you? What about making money off every credit, debit and touch transaction on a machine? Do you think someone may be interested in that? Why about the retailer? If you told him that he could be making money out of the card machine instead of just being charged for it? It won’t be today or tomorrow, but it will come! There is a great sequence in the movie “The Great Race”….. a saloon bar fight and the phrase “Now will you give me some fighting room?”.

And I have always felt you need to clear a space for the fight, clear a space to think, to envision, to solve problems, to plan. And this includes a physical and a mental space.

It's worrying. Chronic high stress is toxic. Simple as.

It's as if people feel imprisoned by their hamster wheel.

It's over 3 years now since Chat GPT made its debut. But I'm not seeing AI having helped in this space.

Want to know the number of people (working for themselves) I know who are working less hours since the advent of AI?

It's a big fat zero.

People are still finding it very difficult to put healthy boundaries around the "work" aspect of their lives. Even those who love what they do - for whom the lines between "work" and "life" blur.

As an anchor for myself, and for the clients I work with, I have this definition of Good Productivity:

“Maximising how much of the important stuff you identify and get done well with the controlled & limited amount of time, energy and attention you devote to your business.”

If you know what works for you in selling, all you need is to use the new tools to make that happen. What did the top sales guy do all those years ago? What did the owner manager know that made him a living? Well, this article may well be entitled "Cop on in Selling: Social Media in 2025!"

This article arrived by email, I usually just delete the emails to be honest, but I thought, maybe it is worth a glance? And it reinforced what I have always believed, things that have got me in trouble over the last 15 years: stories sell, facts tell get your personality across be honest AI, handy!
