Having consent from your customers to have a conversation with them is going to become essential in the very near future.

There is new anti spam laws coming in to place in Canada on the 1st July that looks likely to become the norm internationally. A bit like Ireland and the smoking ban, Canada seems to be the trail blazer internationally for privacy in digital communications.

There were 11.6 million mobile devices compromised by malware in 2013. This an easy problem to fix through the use of antivirus.

Android is showing up as the most widely affected operating system; so if you are using it be vigilant.

There are still 300,000 servers that can leave your username and password vulnerable to being stolen. This is all due to a mistake made two years ago by the guys delivering the security for a number of site you use day in day out. The mistake (bug) has even got a name, Heartbleed.

If you haven't already done it, it is a good idea to change the password on your accounts for:

Facebook
Pinterest
Tumblr
Yahoo
Gmail
Netflix
Youtube

The good news is that this vulnerability does not appear to have been extensively exploited. Always though, you are better to be safe than sorry.
