Security Warning Update.
A number of clients have received emails apparently from 'IDS Ireland' asking for money for a 'domain renewal notification service'. Please, do not click on any link in this email and especially do not pay them any money.
If you receive an email about your website or domain name, even it it appears to come from one of our email addresses (webbery.ie or littleireland.ie), then do not react to the email. If you suspect that it may be legitimate, and you are one of our clients, just forward it to [email protected] or [email protected] and we will get back to you to let you know if it is a legitimate email.
Some Additional Security Hints
Do Not Click/Open: Never click links or open attachments in unexpected emails, even if they appear to be from a known contact.
Use official channels: For emails from banks or services, navigate directly to their official website via your browser or use their app already installed on your device instead of following any provided links.
View Requests for Money with Suspicion: If you receive any request by email or text for money always view it with extreme suspicion.
Beware of Spoofing: Emails, phone calls and texts can be spoofed. An attacker can disguise their email address or phone number to appear to be a trusted person or business.
Don't believe a change of Bank Account: Another common attack is when you receive an email saying a business / person has changed bank account. Again - do not reply or react to this email but contact the business / individual directly through your usual channels to verify the legitimacy of this information. We (The Webbery / Little Ireland websites) have never changed our bank account and have no plans to do so.
Emails about Your website / Domain Name: If you are one of our clients and you receive an email related to your website and is asking for money then it is almost certainly spam. We provide an all-in-one package which includes web hosting, domain name renewal and search engine optimisation support, and we send invoices out by post with the exception of a few clients who have asked to receive invoices by email.
Domain name renewal reminders: Our domain name registrar is BB Online UK (nominate.com) and they may communicate with our clients when a domain name is about to be renewed, but there is no need to react to that email as we automatically renew domain names held in our account. If you want to cancel your domain name renewal then please email us directly. If you have domain names not registered through us and mail boxes from other providers, then you should know who you have a business relationship with and can go directly to their website to check the legitimacy of any communication concerning domain name renewal.
Warnings about Email storage space: If you receive a warning about email storage, do not click on any link given in the email, or reply to the email, but log into your account with your email provider. If you are unsure who your email provider is, and you are one of our clients, then please email us and we should be able to let you know who that is.
If it doubt, and you are one of our clients, then email us at [email protected] or [email protected] - we are always happy to help.
Don't click and Don't reply to unexpected emails, even if they appear to be from a known contact (even us!).
