So, you want to increase your wedding bookings?

You need to:

💡 Generate consistent enquiries throughout the year
💡 Ensure that they are quality enquiries from your ideal clients
💡 Have a seamless funnel to convert those enquiries

It might seem like a lot - it is - but when you have a systematic, repeatable process for implementing this using social advertising, bookings are only a matter of time away.

In my experience, clients in the wedding sector can expect to secure a booking within 2-3 weeks.

A prospective client recently chose to put their entire advertising budget on a full page ad in a magazine. It left them with no budget for any other advertising.

Advertising is certainly omnichannel and if you're a big brand, full page magazine ads can be very effective in your marketing mix.

However, choosing to solely put all your advertising spend on a magazine ad in this day and age is akin to flushing it down the toilet really. A proverbial flash in the pan!

Here's what I would have done to acquire a min 2% conversion rate, boosting brand awareness significantly and acquiring a tracked return on Ad Spend while targeting the exact readers of the same magazine!

1. Create an optimsied Landing Page with a Blog or Advertorial piece that mentions a special offer.
2. Setup a Content Marketing Campaign on Facebook & Instagram using the Conversion objective optimised for leads.
2. Target the readers of the magazine by choosing the magazine title in the Interests and editing the age and gender to your liking.
3. Create a custom audience of people that visit the landing page.
4. Remarket to the custom audience with the Special Offer highlighted.

Trust me, it works every-time!!

3 learnings from spending €250K in Ad Spend for the wedding sector on Facebook & instagram.

1. Don't just target 'engaged' ladies. Facebook loves big numbers so layer 'engaged' with other broad wedding related interests such as 'wedding' and 'wedding dress'. Your Ad will then do the heavy lifting of attracting the right people.

Facebook puts people into different pools based on our actions on the platform. If someone has been planning a wedding for example, they will have visited many different pages related to the wedding sector.

Targeting your Ads using layered broad interests, then pulls the right people into your funnel and your Ad attracts them to take the action that you want.

2. Adjust your remarketing window to reflect your conversion window. You may get better results with a 7-14 day remarketing audience over a 30 day audience for example.

Test this and see what works for your business.

3. High ticket wedding services can benefit hugely from promoting an open day or a showcase. Campaigns for wedding events do extremely well and even if you are a small business, you could organise an evening to welcome some guests to learn more about your service.

People buy more online on Bank Holiday weekends.

Don't just keep running your usual campaigns though.

Use these tips:

1. Create a campaign with a specific offer that runs until midnight of the Bank Holiday Monday.

2. Start this campaign on the Thursday before so it would essentially be a 5 day campaign. The bulk of the sales will happen over the weekend.

3. Widen your remarketing net to bring lost customers back into the buying cycle. If you generally target a 30 day remarketing window, push to 60-180 day even.

4. Make sure to highlight 'Ends Midnight Monday' to add a sense of urgency.

5. Use some top performing remarketing audiences such as website visitors, Facebook & Instagram Ad/Post Engagers and Add to Cart/Initiate Checkout.

Let me know how you get on!

You don't need to spend lots of money on video production or editing to get started with Facebook & Instagram Advertising.

I recently used a simple video with just images for a client due to time restraints and it generated a 10X Return on Ad Spend.

One of the images was even slightly blurry and I hated having to use it but it certainly didn't negatively impact the campaign.

So, don't wait until you can afford a videographer or when you feel that you have the perfect video.

Shoot a few different styles and just get moving and testing them in a campaign.

I am always surprised at what works and I believe User Generated Content has impacted our perception of video content.

We are no longer inundated with 'perfect' TV commercials as we live in a digital world where we are all content creators.

The veil has been lifted on the unattainable or illusory reality that brands force fed us for years.

Be real, be authentic, be you and your video ads will resonate with your audience.

7 Deadly Sins of Facebook Ads

2. Not allocating enough budget to remarketing
3. Not testing enough ad creatives
4. Using the wrong campaign objective
5. Creating unnecessary new campaigns
6. Not using the same Post ID to grow social proof
7. Turning off Ads too soon

The No. 1 way to lose customers?

Poor. Customer. Service.

The most amazing advertising in the world won't remedy poor customer service.

In fact, 96% of your customers will leave you due to bad customer service according to Forbe's 2020 Achieving Amazing Customers Study. That's almost everyone!

And consumer expectations are high when it comes to customer service, and they are only getting higher.

How can you improve?

1. Allow customers to find a quick answer to their questions when buying online.
2. Allow the customer to be in charge of their own narrative. Provide them with the opportunity to use an AI-driven chatbot, a knowledge base, a FAQ, or the ability to speak directly with a service agent.
3. Make sure your digital channels are open for customer service communication. There is nothing worse than sending a message on social and getting no reply back!
4. Adopt an omni channel philosophy. Customers have become used to being able to interact with brands on multiple channels, including their websites, mobile apps, emails, phones and brick-and-mortar storefronts. They expect a consistent, frictionless experience across all of a brand’s channels.
5. Try to offer personalised customer experiences such as past purchase history and knowing the customer’s name, address and contact info.
6. Benchmark your customer service from the best in the world, not just from your industry. Think Apple and Amazon.
7. Be honest. If there is an error made on your part, own up to at and do your best to fix the situation or offer a refund.
8. Have a process to deal with complaints. Don't have customers jumping from Billy to Bob repeating their issue with no log of previous conversations. This is the worst type customer service in my opinion.
9. Don't have too long a wait time on calls or offer a call back service.
10. Try to match your customer service with your image.
10. Reply to customers promptly.
11. Be nice, be nice, be nice! Insensitive communications are not welcome.

Create a customer service checklist for your brand for 2023 and prioritise ways of improving.

Shoutout to some brands that I've had amazing experiences with in the past few months. Harvey Norman Ireland Monart Destination Spa White & Green
