Happy Mother’s Day to all Mothers and all who have Mothers ! It’s a great day up celebrate the magic and power of the sacred womb.
The sacred act of birthing that is the most natural but awe inspiring event in a person’s life for mother father and child. To emerge from the ethers through the birth canal of a Mother. The act of creation ! Who here hasn’t experienced it !!
So it is so potent to be celebrating the role of the Mother in society, after our constitutional referendum-Our constitution is an aspiration for the well being of our people and it needs reinterpreting for our times for sure!
In Ireland we have been honoring the mother uninterrupted since thd first people arrived on this island and began to build sacred mounds to celebrate the birth of light, like at new grange where our ancient story tells of the great mound of the goddess tucked into the bend of her river The Boyne -Brù ns Boinne, the great white cow of the Milky Way- Bealach na Bó Finne, who is impregnated in a mystical way, the sacred womb mound is illuminated by the first shaft of golden sunlight for Winter Solstice by the Good God the Dagda and the Aonghus the Son god of love is born !
Later the blessed Mother held sway, when the Christian Story took over, The great Mother Creatrix, and Father sky were replaced by a very desexualised disempowered heartbroken version who however gave great succor to our people in hard times ! But times are changing and so many people in Ireland and of course globally ar remembering the Goddess energies, supressed and silenced for millennia! But the voice of the feminine is rising not above anyone but as a representative of each one of us !
I have being feeling for a long time that we are in fact androgynous souls who reincarnate many times maybe. Sometimes embodied as a woman and sometimes as a man. So we carry each aspect within us in differing degrees.
Each of us has our task to balance the two aspects and come into wholeness to be well adjusted members of our communities, So voting to keep the ethos of honoring the unseen (invaluable ) contribution that the mothering role brings to society, Shouldn’t feel exclusionary to men or transgender people because it’s honoring their femine aspect too and their own birth mother
if they are in the home nurturing and expressing their feminine aspect then wonderful let them be mothering and if women want to or have to embody their more masculine nature s in the public spheres great but let’s not change the definition of the balance in nature- the sacred three the sacred Triskel of Mother, Father, Child.
The voice of the feminine has been muted for so long but there’s an upward curve happening and the voices of the mothers sisters daughter won’t be muted again. It’s a time for so much healing time to come back to our own hearts and listen to your souls voice within, that’s where the wisdom lies within.
So at this time of New moon in the lunar cycles and women’s wisdom it’s a time to release what’s holding was back emotions programs and embrace the blank canvas of a new moon cycle ! So I hope you have the luxury of taking a moment to tune into the moon and the earth and honor the magic and mystery of our lunar menstrual cycle gift yourself some time to meditatie just listen
Our moon cycles are the expression of the regenerative force of life - Happy New moon Mother day.
I’m passionate about bringing awareness back to living consciously with our natural cycles marking them with rites of passage ceremonies. When we have gone through life without marking these it can very healing to create ceremonies to bring us to a more sense of wholeness and healing.
