A SELL OUT for tonight's Valentine's long table for our client Kilkenny Town of Food.

This special pop-up event takes place in the rustic and romantic surroundings of the Barn, a historic medieval theatre in the grounds of Camphill Jerpoint near Thomastown in Co. Kilkenny.

The scrumptious menu has a choice of two starters – a Caesar Salad with smoked Goatsbridge trout with heart shaped parmesan croutons or a Vegetarian Salad with Knockdrinna Snow, roasted butternut squash and toasted nuts, all served with local breads from talented Thomastown baker Mags Morrissey.
The main course will be Lamb Tagine with pomegranate seeds or Moroccan Vegetable Stew served with cous cous and mint yogurt. To top it off, indulge in a desert of chocolate brownies served with chocolate strawberries and Cramers Grove Ice cream. Tea/coffee and shortbread biscuits will also be served.

This is the second long table fundraiser hosted since Thomastown was selected by LEADER as the location for the Kilkenny Town of Food initiative last year. Town of Food will put Kilkenny on the map as the top food destination and learning centre in Ireland and it needs to raise in excess of €160,000 in order to avail of €680,000 grant funding available under the EU Rural Development Programme. Town of Food is a LEADER initiative to promote Kilkenny as a major food destination.

Goatsbridge has a range of unique foodie presents which will make shopping for your loved one a lot easier! Goatsbridge Trout Farm, launched in 2012 Ireland’s first Caviar, is run by husband and wife team Mag and Ger Kirwan. Continuing with their love affair of fish, they are launching a new visitor centre and Ultimate Fish Farm tour with smoking workshops this spring.
