Back at my desk today and wanted to wish you all a very Happy New Year!
I hope 2023 is a successful, healthy and joyous year for you all!

On the business front, 2022 was a good year and I hope to build on that in 2023. I am thankful for the great clients I get to work with daily, who trust me with their fab design projects that really excite me! You’re such a great bunch of humans! Love you all! ❤️

I mentioned in December that (as in previous years) I would be donating to a charity in lieu of corporate cards and gifts. I chose the Irish Cancer Society for 2022. 🌼

But back to 2023!

I'm off now for the holidays to rest, re-charge and spend time with family and friends. Back at my desk: Monday 9th January.

Thanks so much to all my lovely clients who I had the pleasure of working with this past - very busy - year! Some great projects this year 🥰 I'm looking forward to working with you all again in 2023.

For the last few years I have been making a donation to charity instead of corporate cards and gifts. I intend to do the same this year but have yet to decide on a charity. Any suggestions? Comment below.

With Christmas just weeks away, now's a good time to let you know Christmas closure details...
JKS Design will close for the holidays at 1pm on Tuesday 20th December and re-open on Monday 9th January 2023.

Saw this van on the road last week. Great to see the re-branding project that I worked on with Global Tiles & Bathrooms pre pandemic complete with the vehicle livery design now in use too.

Back at my desk today and wanted to wish you all a very Happy New Year!

We're nearly afraid to wish for good things this year after the chaos, stress and heartbreak of the the last 2 years which everyone has found very difficult, myself included. 2021 threw a lot of challenges my way! For now, we can only hope that better times are coming and I wish better times for you all ❤️

Wishing you all a Merry Christmas 🎄🎄🎄 and thank you sincerely for trusting me with your design requirements again this year. I’m very, very lucky to have THE BEST clients and partners!
Here’s hoping that in 2022 we get a bit further from Covid (than we did this year!) so we can again meet in-person for a coffee ☕️

I don’t know about you but I am totally zonked! 😴 It’s been a year! 🙈 So I’m going to enjoy this break and spend it with family whilst we remember those we have lost.. 😢

Last Christmas (que Wham! 🤣), I decided that instead of corporate cards and gifts, I would make a donation to charity instead. I have decided to do the same again this year and have chosen the Simon Community who need to bridge a funding shortfall of 1.5M this year!

Stay safe, look after yourselves and enjoy how ever you’re celebrating! 🎅🏼

FINALLY!!! After years of procrastinating! I’ve done it! My new website is LIVE! 🚀 Woohoo! 🎉 https://jksdesign.ie

Hard to believe, that as a designer, I didn’t have my own website (until now). My online presence was solely on social media and business directories.

I’ve been lucky enough to be kept busy during my last 10+ years in business (mainly through referrals) so finding the time among the client work was difficult… I always put my own need for a website at the bottom of my ever expanding to-do list.

I was regularly asked why I didn’t have my own website so I knew I needed to sort one, but finding the time was my main hurdle. Client work was always priority.

Thanks to a few years of prompting from Michael MacGinty (MEANit), I finally stopped procrastinating and registered my domain name in December 2018. I thought that first step would be the start of finally getting my own website sorted.

At that time I was trading under JK Sullivan Design but I couldn’t get a domain name to match, so I shortened it to JKS Design. This prompted a re-brand and new company name. A holding page was designed as a placeholder for my website. But 2019 turned out to be another busy year work wise and I never did get around to sorting my website.

In 2020, Covid appeared and the pandemic took hold of our lives. Things slowed and I decided to try to do something positive with my time and applied for the Trading Online Voucher Scheme and the Business Continuity Scheme, using part of the later to gain Social Media training with the fabulous Marie Shields of Moss Marketing.

Ideas and research were my main focus in the first half of 2020 and then in August, I threw myself into creating both the design and the content for my website. This I found to be a huge task, working nights and weekends to get it all ready. It took a lot more work and time than I thought. But I’ve learned that creating your own website is a big undertaking but so, so worth it.

I want to say a huge thank you to my Web Developers MEANit Web Design Agency for their expertise, advice and patience. I couldn’t have done it without them!
Also thanks to Donegal LEO for their assistance and funding through the Trading Online Voucher Scheme and the Business Continuity Scheme. I found both to be invaluable.

This is something I’ve wanted to do for a very long time and I’m very proud to finally say I’ve my own website! 🙌🏻
There is still much to do, so it's not perfect…
I’ll be adding more projects to the portfolio and more blogs too…
but I couldn’t wait any longer to tell you all about it. 🤩
