Due to lock-down and our 5km restriction we have been more reliant on on-line shopping. I have noticed some shops are very active with their social media but a lot haven't used their social media to advertise they are open or what they have to sell.

It's important now more than ever to keep your social media active. If you are selling online make sure to advise it and upload all the items you have for sale.

You need to think seasonal. What have you to sell?
Sunglasses?
Sun-cream?
Swimming pools?
Paint?
The list is endless, so use your social media and make sure you let your customers know what you can offer them.

A lot of businesses have unfortunately had to close their doors temporarily over the last week due to Covid-19. These are businesses that have close contact with clients but some businesses are staying open.
If you are in the motor trade and have decided to keep working here a few tips to help with social distancing.

1. Order your parts via phone or online, this is nothing new to mechanics as they do this anyway just keep the practice up.
2. Have your orders delivered or left outside the motor factors (if possible).
3. Avoid clients coming to you, try and arrange a pickup service if possible, collect the car off the client and return when finished. Use disposable gloves, car seat covers and steering wheel covers.

Last tip if you are a customer and your local garage is kind enough to keep open during this time and is offering you a good service don't leave them waiting for payment. This is a difficult time for everyone but don't forget they have suppliers to pay, employee to pay, business rate, premises to light and heat and most of all homes and families to provide for ♥

Things have changed rapidly over the last few days for people in business. Alot of people have had to temporarily close the door on the business for the moment. Take this time to relax if need be and then put a plan together.

No. 1. Keep in contact with your clients. If you have had to close your business temporary make sure to contact your clients via phone, Facebook, messenger e.t.c.

No. 2. If you can offer your service via Messanger or Skype then advertise it. Alot of students are looking for grinds e.t.c. can you offer this service via Messenger or Skype?

No. 3. Can you offer a delivery service? What do you sell? Can it be paid for over the phone and can you deliver it?
You may not have considered having an online business before so maybe now is the time to consider it.

No. 4. Take this time to tidy up your business, check all your social media platforms. Start a checklist is all the information across your media platform up to date?

Last but not least, relax and take care of yourself and your family ♥

* Re-post * Since this post Facebook have changed their review policy instead of stars you are asked "Would you recommend" the business/service. I still stand by this post, it is "nice to be nice". If you have used a service in the last couple of days and you were happy leave a good review. Google reviews have also become very popular so don't forget to leave a review there ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

"I recently had a client who received a 1-star review. They where quite upset about it. We investigated it and discovered the person had not used my client’s services and by their profile had a history of rating businesses with 1-star reviews!! We did message the person and they did agree to remove the review.

Why they did this is unknown. I personally only leave reviews if I am satisfied with the service I've received. If I have a genuine reason to complain I will say it while I am at the business. If there is no manager I will make a phone call or email after. What I mean by a genuine complaint is if I went to hairdresser to get my usual colour and it comes out green…THEN and only then have I genuine complaint.

How does this look on your profile? What if I was a potential employer and I look at your Facebook profile. Most Facebook profiles are not completely private. In about 7 out of 10 I can see the following information i.e. where the person is from, their likes and their REVIEWS! If I looked at a potential employee’s profile and they were leaving only 1-star review for businesses, would I want you on my team? I think you know the answer.

The next time you receive the best of service be sure to leave that business the review they deserve"

This week's tip for Facebook couldn't be any simpler, "Be clear with your content". What do I mean? It just means don't focus on what you are qualified in, focus on what you can offer your clients. Start your post by saying "This is what I can offer you....."
Don't complicate things keep them clear and repeat if necessary so people understand what it is you can offer. :)

This is basic information but I am going to put this up as a reminder to everyone that has a business page. I am seeing ALOT of sponsored ads recently on Facebook and out of curiosity, I clicked on one the other day. The company in question didn't have an address or contact number. I had to scroll through several posts to find just a phone number.

If you are in business get the basics right when setting up a page.
1. Name of your business. DON'T misspell your name this is a basic but I have seen it happen.
2. Your phone number. This is vital, how else will your clients contact you!!
3 Your address...People need to know where you are based. I have seen a sponsored ad on my feed for a Hairdressers in Galway New York but because of some mistake with placing their ad I was seeing it in Galway Ireland.
4. Business Hours. I often check Facebook to see what time a business is open because I know in some small towns businesses don't open until 10am when you presume they might open at 9am.
5. Regular Content. Keep your Facebook business page active!! Don't let it lapse, people will think you have gone out of business. You don't need daily contact if you simply don't have the time make sure you still post monthly content.
6. Video. I have preached about this on many occasions but Video is key to most business if you want to survive and be seen on Facebook.
Get checking your basic list this evening.

2019 is going to be the year of the video. As you have already noticed it started in 2018. Facebook and Instagram are the main platforms for Videos and Live Videos. If you haven't braved it yet you should start practising.
Its a quicker form of communication, you don't have to sit at your pc hours on end thinking of the posts you're going to put up. All you have to do is put your phone in front of you and start recording or go live...Quick and easy.
