MONTHS MEMORY ACKNOWLEDGMENT
Alphonsus (Al) Mc Geough, 21 Oriel Park, Emyvale, Co. Monaghan.
Al’s wife Margaret and children Lynda, Amanda, Shane, Declan, Alo, Marty, Deborah, Kelly and the Mc Geough family circle would like to sincerely express their heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to all who sympathised and supported them through the sad passing of Al on Wednesday 15th December 2021.
To everyone who paid their respects, offered their condolences and attended Al’s funeral, and the many mass and sympathy cards that were received during this very difficult time, your comforting words of sympathy are truly appreciated.
We also extend our deepest thanks to the healthcare professionals who looked after Al during his short battle. Dr. Willhelm, Veronica, Denise, Niamh & all the Cavan Palliative Care team. A special mention to Niamh and also to Dympna of the Irish Cancer Society’s Night Nurses. It will never be forgotten how you respected and comforted Al and the family and made his final days so peaceful. To Dr. Balmer Monaghan and the staff at Ronaghans Pharmacy, Monaghan for the impeccable and personal service provided to Al and the family. To Dr Waseem and the Oncology department in Cavan General Hospital and St Lukes Dublin for the care and attention Al received during his treatments.
A very special thanks to Peter, Pa**ie & Jack of Mc Mahon Funeral Directors for their utmost professionalism, courtesy and assistance in arranging Al’s wake and funeral. To the gravediggers who prepared Al’s final resting place. To Fr. Hubert Martin and Fr John Flanagan who celebrated Al’s life at the funeral mass so admiringly. To Paula Mc Mahon for the beautiful music at the funeral mass.
Thank you to John Taylor, Tony Cannon, Michael Lynch, Martin Campbell and Henry Mc Mahon who performed the brass music as a touching tribute as Al arrived to and departed St Patricks Church Corracrin, it made his final journey extra special. To Donagh Celtic FC and Truagh Gaels GFC for your guard of honour, a very personal sentiment close to Al’s heart. To Al’s sons, daughters and in laws, grandsons, brother, nephews and Donagh Celtic boys for being the pallbearers, an honour in itself.
It would be impossible to thank everyone individually, we trust this acknowledgement will be accepted as a token of our sincerest gratitude and appreciation to everyone who helped in any way through this difficult time.
