Next up in our Meet the Team series is Rebecca, our number-savvy, quantitative thinker and mathematically minded accounts and finance manager! We put a few questions to her to get to know the woman behind the numbers a little better!
👉What’s your favorite way to unwind after a long day of crunching numbers?
🔵 I enjoy watching videos or live streams of showjumping competitions. There’s something mesmerising about the precision and skill of both the rider and horse working together. If I’m not doing that, I love to have some quiet time with a nice cup of coffee.
👉What’s the most unusual talent you have?
🔵 Apart from my uncanny ability to trip over things that aren’t even there, my real talent is organising paperwork. Give me a chaotic pile of documents, and I’ll turn it into a perfectly ordered system faster than you can say ‘file folders!’
👉If you could have any fictional character as your financial advisor, who would it be?
🔵 I’d choose Bobby Singer (Supernatural) as my financial advisor. He’s practical, resourceful, and always finds a way to make things work, no matter how complicated the situation. Plus, I imagine his no-nonsense attitude would keep me on track and make sure I never overspend!
👉What’s a fun fact about accounting that most people don’t know?
🔵 Accounting can be seen as boring, but it’s actually a lot like solving puzzles. Every number tells part of the story, and uncovering how it all fits together can be really satisfying!
👉If you could swap jobs with anyone in the office for a day, who's role would it be and why?
🔵Honestly, I wouldn’t swap jobs with anyone in the office because I’m not particularly creative or technical enough to take on their roles. I truly enjoy working with numbers and find satisfaction in the structure and problem-solving that come with my job. It’s where I feel I can contribute the most.
👉What do you find most rewarding about your role?
🔵 Bringing clarity to the numbers. When everything reconciles and makes sense, it feels like I’ve done something meaningful to keep things running smoothly.
👉What’s your go-to karaoke song?
🔵 Well, I’d love to say something bold, but honestly, I wouldn’t subject anyone to my singing efforts!
👉If you could have a dinner party with three famous figures, who would they be and why?
🔵 Nick Skelton – He’s an Olympic gold medalist and one of the greatest showjumpers of all time. I’d love to hear about his incredible career and how he overcame challenges to achieve so much.
🔵 Michelle Obama – Her work on education, health, and empowering young women is inspiring. I’d love to hear about her experiences and the ways she has balanced her public and private life.
🔵 P!nk – She’s an incredible performer with a strong personality, and I admire her authenticity. It would be amazing to hear her stories of resilience and how she balances her personal and professional life
👉If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?
🔵 I’d love to attend the CHIO Aachen in Germany. It’s one of the most prestigious equestrian events in the world, and seeing the best showjumpers compete live would be incredible.
👉If you could have any superpower related to your job, what would it be?
🔵 The ability to instantly identify and correct errors in financial records. It would save so much time and make audits stress-free!
