Seeking support is sometimes like reaching for an oxygen mask on a plane; you need to help yourself before you can safely take care of anyone else. Moshe*, a 28-year-old husband and father suffering from p**n addiction, recently made the difficult decision to call Amudim for assistance in seeking treatment before he discussed his demons with his wife. He wanted to begin the road to recovery and give himself a fighting chance of saving his marriage.
Our case manager helped Moshe find an affordable therapist who is trained and experienced in dealing with s*x addiction; he also directed the client in opening up to his wife, which led to the expected shock, tension and anger and some tough but necessary months of marital therapy.
Amudim has been conducting regular follow ups, and Moshe happily reports that he feels that he now has a stronger relationship with his wife and is more present for his family. He is still in therapy so that he can continue to work on himself, and is grateful for Amudim's assistance with his road to healing.
