Shaul Vilkomir-Preisman, the Cyberint security researcher responsible for the discovery, spoke with Dark Reading’s Nate Nelson about his UULoader finding. According to Shaul, Chinese-language hackers are responsible for the new malware loader, which employs several simple yet successful evasion mechanisms to remain undetected, and are using it to target Chinese and Korean speakers. According to The Hacker News, the ‘UULoader’ malware is distributed in the form of malicious installers for legitimate applications and is being used by threat actors to deliver next-stage payloads such as Gh0st RAT and Mimikatz.
