Some days we eat salads and go to the gym, some days we eat "CUPCAKES" and refuse to put on pants, it is called BALANCE. Well, the big day has arrived with delicious melodies for all those food lovers out there. Yeah, I am talking about 16th October. The world food day that comes all new and glowing with a new theme every year to commemorate the establishment of UNITED NATIONS World Food Day in honor of the date of the founding of the Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO) of the United Nations in 1945.
This year the World Food Day 2020 theme is "Grow, Nourish, Sustain together. The theme focuses on providing everyone sufficient food this year as the pandemic has hit all of us very hard. Well if we are talking about the food we must acknowledge the fact that agriculture is the backbone of our country. More than 70 percent of the population is engaged in agriculture and when one eats, one should not forget those Farmers who work harder in THE FIELDS. Because of their connection to the land, farmers not only feed us but they also do more to preserve and protect our environment than anyone else. They are one of the best environmentalists. The irony is that these heroes become the feeders for us three times a day but they struggle to eat fully even for one time a day. Each of us is aware of this condition and situation of them but what is the cause ?? The problems are endless and they will continue to multiply unless we initiate to find a solution for it. Agriculture has been the backbone of our economy for decades but the downfall started when the traditional methods started to become outdated and costly. The situation is still the same but now technology is getting advanced day by day. One of the pieces of evidence of such advancement is the introduction of the "Drone Revolution " in the field of agriculture.
Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV), commonly named drones are small aerial machines weighing up to 30 kg. The agricultural industry seems to have embraced drone technology with open arms, to increase efficiency in certain aspects of the farming process from crop monitoring to planting, livestock management, crop spraying, irrigation, mapping, and many more.
In short, the goal is to develop and make the backbone so strong, so that our country stays straight with its head high because "Agriculture not only gives riches to a nation but the only riches she can call her own ” ~ Samuel Johnson
