EMERGENCY WARNING - TSUNAMI

The Joint Australian Tsunami Warning Centre has issued a Marine Threat Tsunami Warning for the Lakes Entrance, 60nm east of Gabo Island including Mallacoota
The tsunami is expected to affect the marine environment from 9.30pm.
- In areas with a threat to the marine environment only, emergency authorities advise people to get out of the water and move away from the immediate water's edge of harbours, coastal estuaries, rock platforms and beaches.
The tsunami threat will commence any time after the following 9.30pm and will persist for several hours:
- Lakes Entrance to 60nm east of Gabo Island including East Gippsland Coast from 9:30 pm [AEDT] Saturday.
If you are located in the water, or at waters edge along from Lakes Entrance to 60nm east of Gabo Island including East Gippsland Coast, you are in danger. You should move immediately to higher ground. Do not go to the coast to watch the tsunami.
