In recent years, there has been a growing concern that Social Responsibility (CSR) has, in some instances, shifted towards compliance rather than genuine social responsibility. While many companies embrace as a sincere commitment to ethical practices and societal betterment, others may engage in primarily to meet legal requirements or improve their public image. Have you wondered why you get to see a huge jump in being distributed to NGOs just a few weeks before the cutoff date in February/March every year? In fact, most of these CSR teams would have been silent throughout the year. Then in haste, they distribute funds to the NGOs who have their basic checkboxes in place.

This compliance-driven approach can sometimes lead to superficial efforts that lack meaningful impact and severely affect the proper distribution of CSR funds to the rightful & most deserving of .

The danger lies in CSR becoming a mere checkbox exercise, divorced from the core values of . should be transparent about their CSR initiatives, prioritize long-term sustainability, encourage & engage their base to participate, and avoid greenwashing or token gestures.
