Imam al-Mahdi the tweleth shia imam. He is the only son of Imam Hasan al-Askari (the 11th Imam) who was born on the 15th of Sha’ban 255/869 in Samarra, Iraq. He became the divinely appointed Imam when his father was martyred in 260/874. Imam al-Mahdi went into occultation (disappearance; leaving among people while he is not identified) at the same time. He will re-appear when Allah wills.

Al-Qāsim ibn al-Ḥasan was the son of Hasan ibn Ali. He supported his uncle Husayn ibn Ali in fighting off the Umayyad forces during the Battle of Karbala where he was killed at the age of 13.

Al-Abbas ibn Ali ibn Abi Talib also known as Abu al-Fadl were the son of Ali ibn Abi Talib. His mother was Fatima bint Hizam, commonly known as Umm al-Banin. Hazrat e Abbas is said to have inherited Ali's boldness and bravery, and is regarded by Shia Muslims as an ultimate paragon of courage and self-sacrifice.

Imam Husayn (as) is the grandson of Prophet Muhammad (saww) and the son of both Imam Ali (as) and Lady Fatimah (as). Prophet Muhammad adored him and credited him with a number of important merits during his life. However some 50 years later he was brutally massacred for refusing to side with a corrupt tyrant.

Zaynab bint Ali was the eldest daughter of Ali, the first Shia Imam, and Fatima, the daughter of the Islamic prophet Muhammad. Zaynab is best known for her role in the aftermath of the Battle of Karbala, in which her brother Husayn and his family and companions were massacred by the forces of Yazid I. The women and children were taken captive after the battle and marched to Kufa and then Damascus, where Zaynab gave impassioned speeches, condemning Yazid and spreading the news of Karbala. She was later freed and died shortly afterward.
