Ashok Sharma began his career in 1984 as an instructor at his alma mater, teaching computer skills in a Delhi school. Alongside his role as an educator, he also offered training to individuals, sharing his knowledge with a broader audience. In 1986, Ashok and his life and business partner relocated to Bengaluru, where they expanded their efforts foraying into training corporate employees in computer usage and programming skills.
Recognising the growing demand for technology in business, their venture known as Desktop India, initially ventured into developing business applications. However, his true calling emerged when he pivoted to computer graphics. By 1990, they were creating basic graphics for corporate presentations, starting with Harvard Business Presentations.
In 1994, after acquiring a laser printer, Desktop India identified a new opportunity - printing artwork on tracing sheets to offset printers. This endeavour soon evolved into a full-fledged business, leading them to enter the printing and packaging design industry. Desktop India eventually became two companies: Suprabha Colorgrafix Pvt. Ltd., specialising in printing, and Zinc & Broccoli, focused on design.
Driven by an insatiable curiosity and a passion for continuous learning, this journey is a testament to the company's ability to adapt and innovate. Under the leadership of Ashok, the team has successfully established and grown multiple businesses, all while learning and evolving on the job.
