I was having a talk with a friend of mine who is into performance marketing yesterday and he asked me what factors i believe will catapult the online marketing spectrum in the coming years . Without giving it much thought , my answer was simple, “Marketing personalization and smart automation” amongst other factors around AI will be the crème de la crème of effective and performance marketing in the coming years. Mark my words.
Automation makes it possible to personalize customer communications to a large degree. You can confidently grow your audience and still deliver the kind of personalized experiences that keep customers engaged with your business.
We live today in an attention based economy driven by traction. The moral behind the attention economy is the collective human capacity to engage with the many elements in our environment that demand mental focus.
The term reflects an acknowledgement that the human capacity for attention is limited and that the content and events vying for that attention far exceed that capacity.
In attention economy , attention primarily refers to user engagement with digital products, which equates to revenue and influence for those who capture and maintain it. we live in an age of surveillance capitalism, in which personal data is a central commodity.
Influencers have one job, monetize your attention. It’s all marketing at the end of the day and when marketing is implemented with marketing personalization and smart automation , monetising attention comes with ease.
I will conclude by saying don’t get carried away by vanity metrics like the majority. Vanity metrics include followers count, likes and comments. Sure, these numbers can offer a quick ego boost, but the truth is, they often fail to reflect the true engagement and influence of your brand on your business bottom line.
