Stuck in our respective homes, we didn’t have to dig deep for a theme this year. As ConQuest 2020 goes digital, our quizmaster acclimatises to life in isolation. Using those extra hours in between video calls and hand washing to revisit some important fundamentals.

When talking about the Constitution, one tends to think of the State and its obligations. But this year started with ordinary citizens questioning citizenship laws and what constitutional values mean to them. The lockdown saw civil society take on constitutional functions like social welfare, and even proved to be more effective than the state. Our theme for 2020 though lighthearted on the surface references this new reality. Can a citizen in isolation continue to engage with the constitution and the community.

We wanted the branding to add charm without generating more waste. A different kind of minimal - biodegradable bagasse containers with a paper wrap and seal that can be photocopied, screen-printed, even cyclostyled on recycled paper. Small enough to sneak into those unused spaces in large print runs as well. High on safety, super functional but low power and low waste.
