The Quality Update:

It’s not your imagination. Google’s results have changed since the beginning of this month, and Google’s officially confirmed to Search Engine Land that this is due to a change with how it assesses content quality. Call it “The Quality Update,” if you will.

Earlier this month, some publishers began noticing changes to Google’s search results. We had asked Google if this due to a Panda Update or any other type of update, but Google replied no. Since then, more reports came in, with the change even being dubbed the “Phantom Update” because something did seem to have happened, even if Google wasn’t acknowledging it.

Now Google has. After more follow-up this week, the company told Search Engine Land that while no spam-related update had happened, there were changes to its core ranking algorithm in terms of how it processes quality signals.

Latest web tool-template engine

Creating a static HTML page similarly is simple. However, if you have multiple HTML pages to handle in your project, things could get out of hand. Most of these pages may share the same components such as a Header, Sidebar, and Footer.

If you change something in the Sidebar, should you change it for the Sidebar in the other pages, one by one, or use a Template Engine instead?

Using a Template Engine sounds better for this situation. There are now a number of Template Engines that we can use, such as Kit, Jade, and Handlebars. Each has its own writing conventions. Kit, for instance, comes only with Variables and Import capability which are declared with a simple HTML comment tag, like so.

Jade and Handlebars come with a lot of robust features to cater to more complex projects. We will discuss them in more detail in a separate post (stay tuned!). The point is that if you want to build a scalable static website, you should take advantages of a Template Engine.

Strategies That Will Still Work in 2015
1.Widen the Net for Hummingbird-Friendly Keywords
Hummingbird brought a change in the way Google parses queries. Instead of matching up separate keywords to pages, it's now looking for actual search intent.
Keywords still are important, but now you should look for larger buckets of niche-specific word combinations. To do this, first, determine various conversational phrases people are likely to use when searching for your services. For example, instead of flowers, try phrases like Valentines bouquet, same day flower delivery, or inexpensive flower arrangement. When possible, target conversational phrases just as they are, for example, target where to buy flowers in bulk.
Next, classify these phrases into three categories: informational, navigational, and transactional. To address informational queries, create educational content that then links to your product or sales pages. Navigational queries are already looking for your brand name, product name, or website. Transactional queries signal commercial intent. To rank for these, include words like buy, coupon, discount, deal, review, or hire.

Rolling out the mobile-friendly update??

As we noted earlier this year, today’s the day we begin globally rolling out our mobile-friendly update. We’re boosting the ranking of mobile-friendly pages on mobile search results. Now searchers can more easily find high-quality and relevant results where text is readable without tapping or zooming, tap targets are spaced appropriately, and the page avoids unplayable content or horizontal scrolling.
This update:

1. Affects only search rankings on mobile devices
2.Affects search results in all languages globally
3. Applies to individual pages, not entire websites

While the mobile-friendly change is important, we still use a variety of signals to rank search results. The intent of the search query is still a very strong signal -- so even if a page with high quality content is not mobile-friendly, it could still rank high if it has great content for the query.

Negative SEO – There are many negative SEO strategies but they all have one thing in common: they want to hurt your ranking and visibility.
