Often while doing ASIN listing audits for clients and prospects we come across simple things that can have a huge impact on Amazon.

Here are a few things brands should be looking out in order to do things right:

#1 Using all 7 photo slots plus a video. We are always shocked at how many ASINs don't use the real estate provided.

#2 The photos have infographics, so you're calling out benefits (not making people guess)

#3 The photos show the product in people's hands. This prevents most size-related returns and negative reviews.

#4 Robust bullet points, each focusing on one major theme.

#5 The Enhanced Brand Content (in this case, Premium A+ Content) is beautiful, with the same graphic elements throughout.

#6 Put the face of the inventor/founder in the EBC to better tell the story of the product. Imagine a Shark Tank pitch without the founder!

Amazon Prime Day is happening on 15th-16th of July.

Here are 4 tactics that sellers can use to maximize profits:

✅ run a coupon. Rupee-off converts slightly better than percentage-off. Be a part of it!
✅ push PPC traffic to the listings that are already doing well. You know what works, so push it!
✅ run manual PPC campaigns with just 1 keyword in them. This is great for increasing ranking
✅ speaking of ranking, push hard on keywords that you're on page 2 or 3 for

Why that last one?

Because if you're indexed on pages 2 or 3, Amazon already likes you for that term. You can now use ads (plus some Prime Day magic) to take you over the edge onto page 1.

70% of all sales are made on page 1.

Revenue doesn't mean anything without profit!

"Pharmapacks, one of the top Amazon sellers, filed for bankruptcy. Despite annual sales exceeding $500 million, the business was unprofitable and failed to secure additional financing. Pharmapacks was a reseller selling health, personal care, and beauty products. It has been at the top of the top Amazon sellers list for nearly a decade. Over the past five years, it was the #1 top seller 1,730 days out of 1,825. Its Achilles heel was its unprofitability. According to its financials, Pharmapacks had a 45% gross margin, but its expenses greatly eclipsed that. It estimated a $112 million loss on $452 in sales in 2021. Pharmapacks hoped to turn profitable in 2024 by increasing sales by 192% from 2021, but only growing expenses by 85%."

I'm sure they had their reasons for this strategy.

Plus, the market share and revenue they amassed is impressive.

However, there are a few things to learn from this:

✅ I'd kill all SKUs that aren't profitable. Or, raise their prices. It's shocking how many sellers are losing money on certain SKUs but don't know it.
✅ The best capital to grow a business is customer payments! It's sustainable and non-dilutive.
✅ Sometimes, a business can "get away" from its owners. Get profitable and scale that way. Develop this as a discipline before the problem is too big to handle.

Here are some lessons learned through the experience of managing hundreds of campaigns every year on Amazon. These are a few things you can do to boost your AMS campaigns if they are not performing to your liking.

✅ Look at day-wise data or day-parts
My team and I recently came across an example where the seller was selling car wash kits.
Sales would spike every Thursday and Friday with people shopping in anticipation of cleaning their cars on the weekend.
Our conversion rates went through the roof on Thursdays and Fridays, and that spending was much better deployed during those times.
On Mondays, we just couldn't get people to convert even though we were spending.
Hence, find patterns and then increase your spending and bidding during peak periods. This can change your results dramatically.

✅ Focus on high-impact keyword
What's that one keyword that, if you were to rank on the first page for it, would change your life forever?
Every product has one.
Instead of running a bunch of keywords in each campaign like every other seller, sometimes we'll create a campaign with one keyword and one keyword only.
This lets you focus all of your budget and bids just on that one term, and it drives ranking like crazy. And as an added benefit, because the campaign only has one keyword, it's extremely easy to track inside Amazon's campaign manager.

✅ Leverage Amazon's dynamic bidding feature
And lastly, I encourage you to play with Amazon's Dynamic bidding feature.
You can ethically bribe Amazon to put you on the first page. The dynamic bidding feature allows you to say, "Hey Amazon, I only want to pay 20 Rs per click on this ad unless you can put me on the first page for this term, in which case I'll pay 50 Rs."

You might ask, "Why would anyone want to do this? Isn't this just an invitation to high spending?"
And on the surface, it looks that way.

What we found is that click-through rates and conversion rates are higher for results appearing on the first page. Once you factor that in, even if you do pay 50 Rs. per click versus 20 Rs. per click, your cost of acquiring a customer is not actually that much higher. And many sellers are afraid to do this, so you'll have less competition.
