शिबू सोरेन जी ने महाजनी शोषण और जमींदारी प्रथा के खिलाफ आंदोलन झारखंड (तब बिहार का हिस्सा) के संजोआ (Santhal Pargana) क्षेत्र से शुरू किया था।

📌 विशेष रूप से उन्होंने दुमका और गिरिडीह इलाके में आदिवासियों को संगठित करके महाजनों और साहूकारों के अत्याचार के खिलाफ संघर्ष छेड़ा।

यह आंदोलन 1970 के दशक में “संजोआ आंदोलन” या “महाजन विरोधी आंदोलन” के नाम से प्रसिद्ध हुआ।

आदिवासियों को साहूकारों से बेदखली, सूदखोरी और जमीन छीने जाने की समस्या झेलनी पड़ती थी।

शिबू सोरेन ने युवाओं और आदिवासी समाज को संगठित कर यह नारा दिया – “जमीन हमारा है, महाजन नहीं।”

👉 यही आंदोलन आगे चलकर झारखंड मुक्ति मोर्चा (JMM) की नींव बना और झारखंड राज्य आंदोलन को बल मिला।
