Recent data reveals a substantial surge in bookings for spiritual getaways, signaling a departure from the traditional beach and hill station preferences.
Ayodhya has witnessed an impressive 70% surge in OYO app users. This significant spike surpasses the growth observed in popular tourist hotspots like Goa (50%) and Nainital (60%).
OYO Founder Ritesh Agarwal has taken note of this trend and expressed his insights on twitter. In a tweet, Agarwal acknowledged the shifting preferences among travelers,
emphasizing the remarkable increase in bookings for holy destinations.
Ritesh wrote on X, 'Holy destinations are now India's favourite destinations! Ayodhya saw a 70% jump in OYO app users vs Goa (50%) and Nainital (60%). Spiritual tourism will be one of the biggest growth drivers of the tourism industry in the next 5 years’.
In the wake of the forthcoming inauguration ceremony of the Ram Mandir, Ayodhya is experiencing an unprecedented surge in tourism, particularly following the consecration rituals set to commence on January 16. The seven-day ceremonial process will culminate in the installation of the deity of Shri Ram Lalla, the childlike form of Lord Ram, in the grand temple on January 22. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is slated to be in attendance for this auspicious occasion.
