“Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.”
Winston Churchill
This happens to be Vignesh’s favourite quote. And honestly, it sounds a lot like his journey too.
From school days itself, he carried the dream of becoming a filmmaker. While in 11th standard, he made a short film, the first step of a long journey.
After 12th, he chose to trust his heart. He took Mass Communication and joined Central University in Madhya Pradesh.
There, he gathered a few students and created a documentary together. In the process, he showed a natural ability to lead teams, organise work, and bring people together. That documentary also received recognition from National Institute of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj (NIRD & PR), Hyderabad.
The next chapter led him to Indian Institute of Mass Communication in Delhi for PG. His previous work had already built trust, and people relied on him to manage shoots, coordinate teams, and handle responsibility.
Back in Attappadi, he had made a documentary on the serious issue of child deaths in the region. Later, during his PG days, that work won an award at a film festival judged by National Award-winning figures from the Indian film industry, giving him the exposure he had long hoped for.
After PG, he stepped into the industry and worked with global brands. With that experience, he began his journey at Xpresso.
Today, Vignesh is one year into Xpresso as Assistant Director. After handling multiple projects, he now looks forward to bigger ones ahead.
One thing stands clear though.
Whenever he gave himself fully to the process, rewards found their own way back.
And perhaps that is the beauty of it all!
