Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Quality Engineer to join our team at [Insert Company Name] in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. As a Quality Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest standards of production quality and efficiency. The ideal candidate will possess strong skills in production management systems, quality improvement methodologies, and possess excellent communication abilities.
Key Responsibilities:
β’ Implement and maintain production management systems such as 5S, TPM, and FIFO to enhance efficiency and productivity.
β’ Lead efforts to improve line quality and productivity while adhering to TPM standards to minimize breakdowns and achieve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) targets.
β’ Troubleshoot production-related failures and implement effective solutions to ensure seamless operations.
β’ Conduct daily reviews of production output and analyze losses through the Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) format, taking necessary actions to mitigate losses.
β’ Identify root causes of daily rejection rates and implement corrective actions to minimize quality defects.
β’ Conduct morning meetings and training sessions with Quality Control (QC) team members to enhance productivity and quality standards.
β’ Coordinate effectively across multiple manufacturing processes and tasks, removing non-value-added activities to streamline workflows.
β’ Implement strategies to improve productivity in bottleneck machines and promote activities for new product development.
β’ Maintain and calibrate quality testing equipment, ensuring accurate and reliable results.
β’ Prepare and maintain documentation related to IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 standards.
β’ Monitor and inspect in-line production, incoming goods, and finished goods to maintain quality standards.
β’ Liaise with customers for development projects and address any complaints or concerns promptly.
Skills and Qualifications:
β’ Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
β’ Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in the textile industry.
β’ Strong knowledge of production management systems and quality improvement methodologies.
β’ Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot production-related issues.
β’ Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
β’ Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
β’ Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.
β’ Familiarity with IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 standards is preferred.
