VERMI COMPOST.
All the farmers produce Vermi Compost Under thatched roof and in cement troughs.It is financially uneconomical and waste also.Earthworms not get good growth in this system.Simply we produce the vermi compost in plain place under the shade. In between the coconut rows , other shades or under thatched roofs without cement construction.Make the farm wastes heap with 3 ft breadth and convenient length in layers and sprinkle cow dung solution and put the earth worms in the heap. Moisture is important for 24 hrs. So we lay the drip irrigation for every one ft on the heap.By which we keep the heap under moisture always. We sprinkle the cow dung solution when ever we add the farm wastes in the heap and daily .So the wastes get rotten and become compost quickly in order to earthworms eat them easily.Now the wastes are digested by worms and vermi compost get ready in 45 days.
Some farmers may ask if we produce the vermi compost in plain place there is possible to the worms move to other field. it is not right. The worms moove until the moist place. Many of the Coimbatore farmers rear the worms in this method and get vermi compost in quality.
So i request the farmers follow this method without spending to much money.
