03/21 - A nostalgic journey through art. In 2021, we decided to pursue our passion to create art with no agenda. All we told our design folk was to create art, digital or handmade with our brand’s colour palette and what ensued was a beautiful collection of artworks ranging from movie posters, to logos, to motorcycle art and more. Art is personal, art is expressive and it is this beauty of art that we love!

A firebrand drives radical action, is passionate about solving problems, goes above and beyond their scope of work and breaks the shackles of monotony to deliver impact.

We are super proud of , , Leander and for embodying these values!

In November, our firebrands learned new tools, explored hand-drawn illustration styles, created comic books, drove accountability and progressed professionally and we are happy for them for all their efforts paying off.

Here’s wishing we celebrate more such firebrands in the coming months!

| Day 02/31 - A to our favourite memories from 2021.

1. A partnership worth its salt - We ushered as a partner into firebrand labs. This partnership is a testament to Arun’s 11 year journey of learning, leadership and problem solving.

2. The world waits for jingle bells, we waited for ‘s wedding bells. The artist herself looked like a beautiful painting as she exuded the wedding glow.

3. The birth of another firebrand - We welcomed ’s daughter Aarna into the world with full fervour! The world needs more women and we cannot wait for Aarna to transform the world for the better!

4. When Mediterranean met Madras for Diwali - We are secular and we know it. It was a multicultural Diwali for us with ethnic wear, Mediterranean mezze and truly indian swag.

5. Empty pots, filled tummies, lots of luck - COVID could reschedule the World Cup, Olympics and whatnot but not our quarterly potluck. This year’s potluck was all the more merry with new firebrands joining our tribe and making our workplace colourful.

Who said motivation is only needed on Mondays? Here's our delayed and of the week to blow your mind.

There are apps that we use on a daily basis to run our lives and business’s If you have noticed more often than not, you use these brand names as verbs in your sentences.

What begets this? How do we create a product that can have users "Hooked" and make it a part of our users' daily lives? How would you like to wield the power of creating products that could earn you millions while making the lives of users easy?

The foundational answer lies in ‘s "Hooked". In this book, Mr Eyal dives deep into the science and thinking behind building habit-forming products or in our parlance, creating products that become 'verbs'.

A former lecturer of marketing at the Stanford Graduate College of Business and Design, a technopreneur who has sold 2 tech companies since 2003 and an avid investor with an investment portfolio that features companies such as Canva, Anchor.Fm, Eventbrite, Kahoot, Wise App and more, Nir Eyal creates a confluence of psychology, technology and business and brings to the fore what he calls, 'behavioural design' - a cornerstone for creating and building habits!

The Hooked Model that Mr Eyal presents is a 4-stage process that moves the user from trigger to action to variable reward to investment and this is a cycle that repeats itself on a daily basis until the product has a user hooked. With minimal jargon, actionable takeaways, and deep customer insights, "Hooked" is a guiding force for any budding product designer or manager.

This book also touches upon specific concepts such as the Mind Monopoly model, the god habit model, the facilitator model and so on by providing specific case studies of apps such as Pinterest, Snapchat, FITBOD, Farmville, Twitter and more.

when buzz lightyear said, 'to infinity and beyond', his creators took it to their hearts and created and continue to create an experience that is infinitely magical, endearing and joyous!

a brand that forecreated the computer animation industry, not just an empire!

in 1979 as mr george lucas of lucasfilm founded Pixar, the application of computer technology in film editing, sound editing and animation was unheard of. what's worse? it was cited to be a disastrously costly affair by the then pioneers of animation narratives, disney studios and shelved when first proposed.

cut to 1993, steve jobs of apple had bought pixar from lucasfilm and disney themselves were producing and sponsoring Pixar's first feature which was also the first computer-animated feature to ever release on the big screen.

the movie? toy story! a story narrated from the point of view of toys.

the result? a new world was born. a world where stories weren't shackled by imagination, where chronicles of all shapes, sizes and realms fit in. this was the tipping point of what has since been a magic show of epic proportions.

after toy story, pixar went on to make movies like bugs life, monsters inc., cars, finding nemo, the incredibles, up, the good dinosaur, inside out, bao, and more.

what brought about this? what drove this? forecreation!

the ability to conceive, let alone execute a wild notion that computer graphics, animation and storytelling could be combined to make feature films was as flippant a thought as any in 1979. yet, it didn't stop them. they were bleeding money, yet, they kept going on. they were constantly challenged technically, yet they made it work. for they believed they could change the world, and they did.

here's to john lassert, steve jobs, ed catmull, alvy ray smith and pixar animation studios for enriching our lives with their vision.
