After the Storm Comes the Road Again — Dudhey Bridge Restores the Siliguri–Mirik Connection

Good news for travelers and tourists! Road connectivity between Siliguri and Mirik via Dudhey has reopened, three weeks after the devastating washout of the Dudhiya bridge on October 4, 2025.

With the temporary bridge now in place, travellers can once again journey to Mirik through the scenic mirik and Dudhey route, reviving one of the most picturesque and convenient links between the hills and the plains.

Motorcycles and scooters have already started using the route, while small vehicles will be permitted from Monday. Goods transport, however, will continue through alternate routes via Kurseong, Ghoom, and Sukiapokhari until further notice.
