We all know reading has numerous benefits. However, sometimes even if we want to; it can seem difficult to pick a book over Netflix!😬
This can be reversed by making reading fun & a part of our habit.
So, here our some tips to develop a daily reading habit:
1. Read multiple books at the same time!
If you get bored with the current book, picking up another one will make you excited & this will not disturb your reading intention.
2. Make it pleasurable
Make your reading time your favourite time of day. Have some good tea or coffee while you read, or another kind of treat. Get into a comfortable chair with a good blanket. Read during sunrise or sunset, or at the beach.
3. Read thinner books when you start
Choosing a thinner book gives a psychological edge because we feel it’s easy to complete this book. And this will give you a confidence to continue reading.
4. Eliminate distractions
Make sure to eliminate any distractions that might be interfering with your reading — turn off the TV and put your smartphone on silent.
5. Schedule a time for reading
To make sure that you will read every day, you need to schedule reading into your day.
6. Stop reading books that aren’t inspiring you.
If you're not engaged by the book that you're reading, it can make reading feel like a chore. But, if you’re really into what you’re reading, you won’t be able to put the book down and reading will be fun. Choose books that excites you.
7. Choose books that will have an immediate impact on your life.
Everyone is facing problems and challenges throughout life. If a book can help you solve those problems or enable you to achieve your goals, you’ll naturally be more content with it.
