Old Monk guards a myth.
Decades ago, when the original master blender crafted the rum, he wrote the formula by hand - page by page, into a single notebook.

That same notebook, untouched and irreplaceable, now lives inside a vault at Mohan Meakin.

No scans. No digital backups. No full access granted to anyone.
Even today, senior blenders are only allowed to view sections of the recipe
never the complete formula at once.
This secrecy isn’t just protection…
It’s storytelling.

It’s part of why Monk survived generations without advertising
the brand became folklore.
