Amazon Improves Product Title Updates Starting on July 27
Your product titles are among the first things customers notice, and on mobile devices, every character matters. To help your product titles attract customers everywhere, we're making changes to showcase your product name and highlights more effectively.
Beginning July 27, 2026, all titles in every category, except for media, must be 75 characters or fewer, including spaces. This requirement guarantees that your title will display completely on mobile devices and aligns with the title lengths used by other online stores.
Item Highlights offers an extra 125 characters for sharing materials or recommended use cases that assist customers in comparing options. This content will be searchable and visible alongside titles in search results and on product detail pages. You can keep your existing title until July 27, or you can update your title to 75 characters and include Item Highlights.
We are offering AI-powered tools designed to help you craft optimal titles and item highlights. These tools will automatically comply with the new character limits: 75 characters for titles and 125 characters for item highlights. You can get started today by following these steps:
1. To update a listing, go to "Manage All Inventory" and locate the item you want to modify.
2. Next, select "Edit" from the drop-down menu.
3. On the left side of the page, click "View Enhancements" to see recommended titles and Item Highlights that align with our product title requirements and best practices.
These suggestions help ensure that essential product information remains in the title, while additional details are moved to the Item Highlights section.
After July 27, any titles still over 75 characters will be updated to the AI recommendation gradually. Your listings stay active throughout this process, and you can make changes to your titles and Item Highlights at any time.
When changes are made to your listings, brand owners will have 14 days before implementation to review, modify, and approve AI-generated recommendations for titles and Item Highlights in Review Listings Changes.
