On 21 May 2026, Shri Rupin Suchak, Additional Production Designer associated with films such as Dhurandhar 2, RA.One, and Krrish 3 (as Assistant Art Director), along with his team, visited the Tribes India Showroom, 9 Mahadev Road, New Delhi.

During the visit, the team met Shri M. Rajamurugan, IPS, Managing Director, Trifed, and Shri Harvinder Pal Singh, IRS, RM Delhi-NCR, and explored a wide range of exclusive handloom, handicraft, and tribal lifestyle products curated by skilled tribal artisans from across India. They highly appreciated TRIFED’s continuous efforts in providing a strong marketing platform for tribal artisans and creating sustainable income generation and livelihood opportunities for tribal communities.

The visitors admired the unique craftsmanship, rich cultural heritage, and artistic excellence reflected in the products showcased at the showroom. They also shared valuable design and display inputs for further enhancing the presentation and visual appeal of tribal products.

The visit highlighted the growing appreciation for authentic tribal craftsmanship and the importance of promoting India’s rich tribal heritage on wider creative and commercial platforms.

Trifed officials held a productive meeting with Dr. Ashok D.R., KAS, Director, Tribal Welfare Department, Government of Karnataka, to review and strengthen the implementation of tribal livelihood and development initiatives in the state.

Key discussions focused on expediting DAJGUA training programmes, operationalisation of VDVKs under and schemes, registration of VDVKs, submission of pending UCs and MPRs, and strengthening implementation mechanisms under and MSP for MFP schemes.

The meeting reaffirmed the collective commitment towards promoting tribal entrepreneurship, effective programme implementation, and sustainable livelihood opportunities for tribal communities.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Trifed, under the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, and HCLFoundation on 19 May 2026 at the Trifed Head Office, New Delhi, to support training, capacity building, and market promotion for tribal artisans through HCL’s e-Haat platform and other collaborative initiatives.

The MoU was signed in the presence of Shri M. Rajamurugan, IPS, Managing Director, TRIFED, and executed by Shri Harvinder Pal Singh, IRS, SM Marketing, on behalf of TRIFED and Dr. Nidhi Pundhir, SVP – Global CSR, HCLTech & Director, on behalf of .

During the meeting, the team showcased key interventions, design initiatives, market linkage efforts, and newly developed product samples aimed at strengthening artisan capacities and promoting sustainable livelihoods.

Under the theme “Technology as a Development Driver” and as part of the celebration of “Janjatiya Garima Utsav – Viksit Bharat Yatra”, Trifed Regional Office Rajasthan organized a digital and AI awareness training programme for VDVKs and tribal women entrepreneurs.

The training covered AI-based product photography, digital cataloguing, storytelling, social media promotion, e-commerce, digital payments, branding, and online customer engagement to strengthen tribal entrepreneurship and market outreach.

The initiative is helping tribal entrepreneurs enhance the visibility, branding, and market reach of their products through digital technologies.

Trifed Regional Office (South), in association with ITWWS and Raise Foundation, organized a Digital Awareness Programme for Senneri and Anumanthapuram VDVK members of Chengalpattu District, Tamil Nadu, on 18 May 2026 at Senneri Village.

Around 50 participants attended the programme, which focused on digital marketing, branding, social media promotion, and online marketplaces for VDVK products. Participants were introduced to digital tools such as Canva and AI-based applications for creating branding and marketing materials.

The session also highlighted the use of platforms like Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, YouTube, Amazon, Flipkart, Meesho, and Government portals to strengthen product visibility, digital outreach, and market access for tribal products.

With the aim of promoting tribal entrepreneurship and strengthening traditional livelihoods, Trifed Regional Office Rajasthan organized a TAeM (Tribal Artisans Empanelment Mela) in Udaipur under the celebration of “Janjatiya Garima Utsav – Celebrating 12 Years of the Viksit Bharat Journey.”

Around 80 VDVKs (Van Dhan Vikas Kendras) from various tribal regions of Rajasthan participated in the programme, with nearly 85 tribal products successfully empanelled. The products included pulses, spices, papads, pickles, raw forest honey, and other value-added tribal products.

These authentic tribal products will soon be available at Tribes India outlets, creating greater market opportunities and sustainable livelihoods for tribal communities.

As part of , Trifed RO Andhra Pradesh & Telangana, in coordination with the Tribal Welfare Department, organized a special workshop on AI & Digital Awareness, Tribal Entrepreneurship, Product Branding, and VDVK Engagement at ITDA Seethampeta.

Around 60 members from PMJVM and PM JANMAN VDVKs participated enthusiastically. The session focused on the use of AI tools, including ChatGPT, for product branding and label designing, encouraging tribal entrepreneurs to adopt digital innovation for better marketing and business growth.

Participants actively created product labels using AI tools and appreciated the initiative for helping reduce costs, save time, and strengthen tribal entrepreneurship through technology adoption.
