Tomorrow is when India's exit poll comes out. Here's some polling on 2024 Lok Sabha elections that I found:

1. To a question, "Who do you see as the next Prime Minister?"

56.38% voted "Narendra Modi", while 33.42% said "Rahul Gandhi". Interestingly, a mere 1.85% voted "Anyone from NDA" while a good 8.35% said "Anyone from INDI Alliance". (Poll with about 10,000 votes)

2. To a question. "How many seats will BJP alliance win in the Lok Sabha elections?"

Right about 50% of people voted that NDA will win over 300 seats. 34% of these said that it'll win more than 350. However, 34% people seemed strongly Anti-BJP, and voted on "Less than 200 seats". (Poll with about 7,000 votes)

3. To a question "Is PM Modi a dictator"

49.71% of people said "Yes, absolutely", while 41.17% said "Not at all, that is Propaganda". (Poll with about 6,500 votes)

4. To a question, "Will the BJP cross 400+ seats in this upcoming Lok Sabha elections for 2024?"

About 40% said "Yes, Definitely", while 60% said "No, it's a big number". People seem to be hung up on about 370-380. (Poll with about 6,200 votes)

5. To a question, "Who will replace Narendra Modi in BJP?"

45.97% picked Yogi Adityanath, while Nitin Gadkari came second at 19.11% with Amit Shah at a close 18.30%. (Poll with about 5,200 votes)

6. To a question, "Will NIFTY go up in June 2024 after the Lok Sabha election results?"

A whopping 72.93% said "Yes", while 14% and 13% people said "No" and "Cannot Say". (Poll with about 1400 votes)

7. To a question, "What is Congress' biggest problem?"

About 32% said "Gandhi family", while 15% loyalists said "Not sure, there is no problem". (Poll with about 600 votes)

All the above polls (and a 3,000 more) were created on Virtual Voter app. They're still going on and getting about 1,000 votes in a day, so it's possible that the results look different tomorrow (please check the app, real time). We're about 3 weeks old and have about 16,000 users. From Politics to Policies, Entertainment to Sports, Finance to Life, and everything else. People create polls on Virtual Voter, and vote on them.

And you know what's the best part? You see where the votes are coming from. In addition to a Gender & Age slice and dice, you can literally see all the votes neatly placed on a MAP. It's something we call PREMIUM RESULTS, so there are no fakes.

We made this platform to "Unlock the truth". To "know what people really think". Since the votes are 100% encrypted and safe; forget about us, not even the voter who casted the vote can see what he/she voted for on the platform after the fact. He/she will just "know". Just like actual voting and life. Some of our users say that we're the "first step towards E-democracy". We're flattered. We're definitely the world's first social network focussed on polling, and with such an approach.

But personally, I don't care about being the first. I care about being the best, and the biggest. And so we're launching in US next month. Wish us luck! :)

Social Media has made the "normal" guy totally invisible. Till yesterday, he was normal and so was life. But now?

Now he's suddenly considered irrelevant, and even unattractive. What happened?

Today, the Average Aakash (in this case, "Mera Dost Vaibhav Bundhoo") is overwhelmed with the popularity contest life has become. It's a contest he didn't sign up for, and a contest he knows he can't win. But it is what it is. And everyone's in it.

Everyone's flaunting their apparently fabulous lives on Instagram. They're all so rich and pretty! What can he can possibly bring to the fight? But he's a nice guy. Has always been. Is that enough? Not anymore, it seems. So...what should he do about it?

Vaibhav Bundhoo (the hero of our story) now has two choices: Become a recluse, or change himself to fit in the (cringe) paradigm. What do you think will he do? And whatever he does, who loses at the end? Let's find out.

That's the theme of my new song "Mera Dost Vaibhav Bundhoo". Abhishek Pawar and I created the piece, and I hope you can feel the passion and appreciate the craftsmanship. As artists, we're very proud and hopeful. But at the end of the day, it only matters if you like it.

Life of an entrepreneur and musician is very similar. Though it's much, much harder to "succeed" as a musician. There's no money in music unless you're in the absolute extreme, and even then there's not a lot of it. But I'm so glad to be in the quest anyway. Shooting for the extremes is daunting, but a lot of fun.

Thank you so much for your support and appreciation. Hope you love Mera Dost Vaibhav Bundhoo, and can make it your own: https://open.spotify.com/track/0yxMYFFP7RBN3rgkl4v8cg?si=6IPI3L0ZRqqq5NkiAwtNrA

Have a great weekend. Cheers! :)

24th April, 2012.

The day it all began. My entrepreneurial journey as the founder of the university tabloid called ; I was just a first year college kid. The paper reached 10 colleges, 12000 students. From this paper to SpotHealth. It's been quite a ride. :)

When things work, it's magic. You feel like you're at the centre of a revolution. It's a heavy trip! Failure, in contrast, makes you feel like a solo traveller lost in a desert. The scorching sun feels so close to you, that it could burn you, and you wouldn't feel anything.

Both the experiences mean something, and teach you a lot. More than anything, they teach you that you're only a part of the big story that plays out. You can try, but these things (art, companies, relationships) have a life of their own. You can't "force anything". The trick is to go with the flow and see where the road takes you. You think ten ideas in pursuit of something great, and one clicks. You never know! "Something great is right around the corner" is a great line to live by.

It's been 9 years since that day. 9 years, and...running Newsapers, Online Media, Manpower Outsourcing and so on! Eventually creating employment opportunities for close to 1500 people from 300 cities. Working for over 150 companies, having done a business of over a Million Dollars, easily. Little successes, big failures. A lot of fun.

From this paper to SpotHealth. It's been quite a ride. The game is on, and "something great is right around the corner", right? Right.

Cheers! :)

Selling trash is easy and makes more money. Then why don't we do it?

“It’ll be challenging. But eating outside screws up the stomach. If we can give great food which is not only delicious but also very healthy, I think we’ll make a difference”. Let's do it, bhai! :)

15/04/2020

The Testament started on this very date. A bunch of freshman year college kids wanted to do something great, so they kicked some dust and got on their feet.

It's been eight years since then and we've been changing ourselves everyday. We started as a print publication, went on to do pioneering work in Market Acquisition & Manpower Outsourcing, followed by attempts at revolutionizing the recruitment industry with some solid tech platforms. Phew! Taking our learnings forward and aiming higher, we even went on to create Cread - a social networking platform for artists to collaborate and monetize their work. The ride has been crazy and it's surreal to think that we did all that work.

In this entire journey, we did a business of around a million USD, working with over 1200 people across 220 cities of the country. We served over 100 companies; from Fortune500s to the biggest startups of this country, we saw them all. It's been a journey full of ups and downs, strikes and failures, laughter and cries, and most importantly - changes. It's been a journey full of changes.

And change is what has happened yet again. We've initiated a new startup called ClassEat which wants to make healthy living a mass movement. We've done some really innovative work in the field of biotechnology and are carrying it to the masses with our social networking platform focused on health. Working in stealth mode, we've won a few competitions, incubation from a couple of funds, and the trust of a lovely angel investor. It's exciting, but we'd need a lot of luck and support to make it big! With you rooting for us, I don't think it'll be a problem at all. Cheers to that!

I want to end this with a few lines from The Brook, by Alfred Tennyson:

For men may come and men may go,
But I go on forever.

That's the spirit, folks. Happy eighth birthday to The Testament family. Infinite love and respect!

Yours truly,
Nishant Mittal

CC. Great job, ClassEat!

Expecting every restaurant to cater to your seriousness for vegetarianism isn't practical. To avoid Non veg food, you'll have to go for 'Veg only' places.
