You might think based on my content I didn’t like my clients - but it’s actually the opposite.   
  
I had some of the best, most amazing clients in the world. Good people that I still keep in touch with.
  
HOWEVER…😂 having those dream clients also really made me super over it with the bad ones because I saw how it could be (should be) and then one jerk could ruin a whole day or even a whole few days. But also, let’s not make it about me (you) for a second, think about this -  
  
The bad ones drain you. They cause you to run late, they zap your energy for the good clients that deserve it. Some complain about your prices, some don’t want to follow your policies however you have them set up, want you to come in early or stay late, and that’s really, really not how it’s supposed to go.   
  
There were even times where I offered to work on a day off for a fantastic client - but I offered. Once one of my girls had tickets to go see Drake, and we had both been talking about it for a while, referring to it as Drake Day 🥳😂 and even though I was no longer working weekends by that time I went over to the salon and styled her hair the day of the concert. That was my choice, she didn’t ask, and by that time I’d had zero draining clients so even though I didn’t want to work full days on the weekends I had a clientele of AWESOME people who made my job FUN and I was able to work 3 days a week, no nights, no weekends making really good money. I was down for Drake Day.   
  
enforcing boundaries and policies, and firing bad clients without looking back doesn’t make you a spoiled, ungrateful, stylist - it makes you an incredibly smart business person who prioritizes your own mental health, honors the amazing clients who value and respect you - and leaves you with the energy so that Drake Day is something that’s fun and special, not the thing that pushes you into the burnout zone.

Here are 3 ways to ditch the overwhelm 👇🏽

1. 𝗕𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁 (It's probably what you A L W A Y S hear) But imagine just spending a few hours planning & prepping your content, strategically connecting with your community & not stressing every single day on what to post.

2. 𝗦𝗲𝘁 𝗯𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳
Set a timer for engaging, responding to DMs, or scrolling for “market research." And if it'll help, turn off your notifications to release the pressure of responding to every comment or DM right away. 𝙔𝙤𝙪 𝙝𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙥𝙤𝙬𝙚𝙧 𝙩𝙤 𝙩𝙖𝙠𝙚 𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙩𝙧𝙤𝙡 𝙤𝙛 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙨𝙤𝙘𝙞𝙖𝙡 𝙢𝙚𝙙𝙞𝙖 𝙪𝙨𝙖𝙜𝙚.

3. 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗷𝗼𝘆
Whether it's when you're creating, showing up in stories, planning your content, or sending a DM. Your community will recognize when you show up sharing your passion or if you're just showing up because you have to.

Our commitment to one another is so important. Everyone wants to feel truly accepted at work. They want to feel like their team genuinely cares about them, would go to bat for them, respects them, and most importantly, trusts them.

It doesn’t mean you have the same family dynamic, the same level of education, the same religion, or the same political perspective.

It means you’ve made a conscious decision to [be in it with them] through thick and thin.

That’s why marriage vows include, “for better or worse”. Which is not to say that anything goes—abuse of any kind is not permissible.

What we mean is, every company, every family, every friendship, every RELATIONSHIP, will go through seasons of awesome and seasons of not-so-awesome.

But loyalty means you stick it out, and you don’t give up.

This makes for many years doing life together. Many memories. Many stories. Many experiences. And many learning lessons.
