8 Steps to Making a Good Facebook Business Page

Step 1: Log in to Facebook

Step 2: Choose a Classification

Step 3.Choose a Category
On the main create a page will also be provided secondary categories. Chose a category that best describes your business. When you select your classification you will be required to put an official name for your business page. It is recommended to put your own name for this purpose which you can change later but Facebook allows you to do this just once.
Alternately if you have thought of a good brand name you can mention that accordingly. Inserting keywords in your page title is also a great idea as this will appear in Facebook search. You will be allowed only 70 characters for your brand name.
Step 4. “About” and basic information
Now Facebook will automatically take you through the various steps of completing the basic information. However keep in mind that all important fact that your page is indexed by Google. You will be given space to provide an eloquent writeup about your company or brand. A good description will be picked up by Google. In the basic information section, be sure to add a link to your website. With the ‘add another site link’ option you can direct people to another social page like Twitter.
Ensure that your description maintains that element of relevancy to your brand. Don’t go adding poetry or quotes no one wants to hear that
Step 5. Your Profile Picture
The recommended size of a Business page profile picture is 180 x 180 pixels. Add a suitable image that can be easily identified across the net. One big piece of advice, If you feature a social presence on several sites then try and use the same profile picture because then that becomes easily identified and recognized as an established reflection of your business. Click the button that asks you if yours is a real business and Voila!!! You’re now on Facebook. But, Hold it!!!Some more features need to be added. That was just the initial part.
Add your business page to Favorites
If you look at your personal news feed you will see the favorites section on the left. Add your business page to this section. It will act as a book mark giving you fast and easy access to your business page. You can even LIKE your own page.
You will be taken to a section where Facebook asks you to invite your email contacts to your page. Don’t do this just yet. Update your page with some content and posts. Allow for some activity till you consider this option. You can even create your own email message for your contacts and invite them from your email service.
Step 6: The Cover Photo: Most Important
The cover photo is where you are going to insert your call to action and attract the maximum attention to your page. This is the horizontal area similar to your personal Facebook cover photo. You need to design or insert a good branded image as your cover photo. The dimensions here are 851×315 pixels. Remember that Facebook does not allow a cover photo to have more than 20% text on it. This is determined by the 25 grid block made available in the area for your cover pic. If more than 5 of those contain text, then you’re breaking the rule. You’re almost done. You have content which you can now invite followers to LIKE. Invite your friends, followers and customers to like your page. You can measure the activity from the ‘activity’ tab on your page navigation monitor to see the level of engagement.
Step 7. A Click To Action Button
