Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang Expresses Condolences Over Teesta Tragedy, Urges Monsoon Travel Caution
Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang-Golay has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic death of four residents of Lingdok under Kabi-Lungchok constituency, whose vehicle was recovered from the Teesta River after they went missing while travelling to Siliguri on June 5.
In a message shared through his official page, the Chief Minister extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members and prayed for the eternal peace of the departed souls. He wished the grieving families strength and courage to overcome the immense loss.
The Chief Minister also conveyed his sincere gratitude to the Government of West Bengal, West Bengal Police and Traffic Police, NDRF personnel, TRRC volunteers, social workers, and local residents for their dedicated efforts during the search and rescue operation.
Describing the incident as a painful reminder of the dangers associated with travel during the monsoon season, Tamang urged the public to exercise utmost caution, avoid unnecessary travel, remain updated on weather and road conditions, and strictly follow safety advisories issued by authorities to prevent such tragedies in the future.
