A coordination meeting was held at the DC Office Conference Hall regarding the Makha–Dikchu road and other related matters. The meeting was attended by Hon’ble Area MLA Shri Samdup Tshering Bhutia, DC Gangtok, ADC, SDMs, BDO, Adhakshya Gangtok, BRO, Siwalik Company officials, DC office officials, Panchayats, and members of the general public. Productive discussions were held focusing on road improvement, public convenience, and better coordination among all concerned stakeholders for the benefit of the people.

From the desk of Honourable Area MLA Shri Samdup Tsh. Bhutia:-
Today, I took a follow-up visit at Lower Tintek Khola on the highway route towards Dikchu. This khola is a problematic zone with no adequate culvert and narrow water runoff. Due to blockages, the stream water got diverted onto the road surface, damaging a few houses below and affecting houses and landed property. I met the victims and interacted with them. Further, I attended condolences for the bereaved families at Zang, Lower Rakdong, Lower Khesey, and Macheylakha, Tumin-Dhanbari. On the way, I inspected a home stay structure under construction and met the beneficiaries. During the entourage, I met the public at various places and attended to their submissions.

Yesterday, on 18.05.2026, Hon’ble Area MLA Samdup Tshering Bhutia participated in a special morning session meeting held at the Office of the District Election Officer, Gangtok, where he held a meaningful discussion with the District Collector of Gangtok regarding the overall development of the 16 Tumin Lingee Constituency.
The discussion focused on various important issues related to public welfare, infrastructure development, improvement of civic amenities, and the needs and aspirations of the people.
This cordial interaction further strengthened the commitment towards prioritizing the voice of the people and ensuring effective and sustainable development for the constituency. 🤝
