1st Butterfly meet of Bhutan !!!
The event brought together butterfly experts and enthusiasts from Sikkim, West Bengal, South India, Arunachal Pradesh, and Bhutan, fostering regional collaboration in biodiversity conservation and eco-tourism. Around 200 butterfly species were recorded, including rare ones like Capila zennara (Pale Striped Dawnfly), Cyrestis cocles (Marbled Map), Araotes lapithis (Witch), Helcyra hemina (White Emperor), and Thaumantis diores (Jungle Glory).
I extend my heartfelt gratitude to Tshulthrim Wildlifer , Founder of the Butterfly Society of Bhutan, for organizing this wonderful event, and to all supporting organizations — RSPN Bhutan, WWF Bhutan, Trust Fund for Environmental Conservation, Bhutan Ecological Society, Bhutan For Life, and Bhutan Birdlife Society (BBLS).
