FACT CHECK: Old Hospital Video Misrepresented as Recent Incident in Dima Hasao

RNTV / 7th Sept:- The Hospital Authority has clarified that a video circulating on social media under the caption “Breaking News” is an old video from May 2025, not a recent incident.

According to the clarification issued by the Joint Director of Health Services, Dima Hasao, Haflong, the footage shows a brief private farewell programme involving hospital staff after completion of their duty hours. The authority stated that there was no disruption or compromise of patient care, emergency services, OPD services or other essential hospital services at the time.

Hospital authorities have urged the public and media to verify the date, authenticity and full context of videos before sharing or publishing them as current news.

IPF Objects to “Dima Hasao Autonomous Council” Name, Gives 14-Day Ultimatum

RNTV / HAFLONG, 03rd Sept:- The Indigenous People’s Forum (IPF) and Apex Bodies of N.C. Hills have strongly objected to the use of “Dima Hasao Autonomous Council” in place of the constitutionally prescribed “North Cachar Hills Autonomous Council.”

The IPF stated that the Council’s nomenclature cannot be changed through a notification, resolution or administrative order. It also referred to an order issued by the Council’s Principal Secretary on 31 August 2026, directing departments to use the name “Dima Hasao Autonomous Council.”

The Forum has demanded the immediate withdrawal of the order and restoration of the constitutionally prescribed nomenclature. It has given the authorities 14 days to act, warning that failure to do so could lead to an indefinite bandh, including railways and highways.
