Q1 - Name missing from draft roll?
Check voters.eci.gov.in or your state CEO portal (5 Aug 2026). Missing? File Form 6 during Claims & Objections (5 Aug-4 Sep 2026, Delhi). Free, online or at ERO office.
Q2 - How to fill Form 6?
For: omitted names, first-time voters (18+), wrong constituency. Go to voters.eci.gov.in → "New Registration for General Electors" + enter details, attach 1 age proof + 1 residence proof → submit. Save your reference number.
Q3-ERO's deadline?
30 days to decide (Rule 18(4), Registration of Electors Rules 1960). BLO must verify within 7 days. Track status online. No decision in 30 days = escalate.
Q4-Name's in the roll but wrong?
Wrong spelling/DOB/address/photo/parent name = Form 8, not Form 6. Available at voters.eci.gov.in → "Correction of Entries." Attach correct proof. Same 30-day rule applies.
Q5 Deleted during SIR?
Common causes: house found locked, duplicate registration removed, assumed permanent shift. Fix: file Form 6 immediately in the C&O window. Deletion looks arbitrary? File written objection with ERO, then escalate.
Q6-BLO/ERO not acting?
1) Written complaint to ERO citing Form 6 ref number + Rule 18(4)
deadline - keep a сору.
2) No response? Escalate to DEO in writing.
3) Still stuck? File RTI (Section 6, RTI Act 2005) citing your ref number. Always written, never just verbal. CEO Helpline: 1950.
Q7-When to go to High Court?
After exhausting ERO decision + Section 24 RPA 1950 appeal to CEO file writ petition under Article 226 before your jurisdictional HC. Courts have granted urgent relief on arbitrary deletions in 2026. Can't afford a lawyer? DLSA gives free representation in every district.
