Kisan Press was started by Sri. Venkatarama Reddy in 1951 in Afzalgunj, Hyderabad. He migrated to Hyderabad from Warangal at the age of 14, and did apprentice at Sri Sharada Press run by his to be father-in-law, and then Sri Venkatarama Reddy started Mahatma Press in 1944 which was later renamed as Kisan Press in 1951. Kisan Press was later managed by Sri Venkatarama Reddy's son Sri Satya Prakash
Reddy from 1973, Sri Satya Prakash Reddy was an active leader in first Telangana agitation in 1967-69 and was arrested several times for demonstrating Telangana people's wish to have a separate state. During first Telangana agitation Kisan Press was the only printing company pro Telangana separation and was printing daily newspaper "Naadu" and "Telangana Prabha", these newspaper played a leading role to inform and communicate day to day events of the agitation magazine supporting separate Telangana State. Sri Satya Prakash Reddy developed the business making Kisan Press a well know brand in Telangana Districts providing quality and dependable service. Third generation in the family Mr. Shivaram Reddy son of Sri Satya Prakash Reddy perused Engineering in Printing Technology and then Masters Degree in Printing Technology from prestigious Rochester Institute of Technology, USA and founded a successful printing company in USA which currently imports printing services from its parent company Kisan Press, India. Kisan Press is celebrating 64 years in service, and has also fostered its employees to start more then 100 printing companies in current Telangana State for which Kisan Press takes a great deal of pride.
