Since 1967, International Literacy Day (ILD) on September 8th has been celebrated annually around the globe.

The aim of ILD is to promote the importance of literacy as a matter of dignity and human rights, and to advance the literacy agenda towards a more literate and sustainable society.

There are large number of instances, where the State Information Commissioners are passing orders contrary to the spirit and object of RTI Act and contradicting the laid down procedures.

Another issue is the Public Authorities did not comply the decisions of CIC/SIC and the Information Commissions are not strict about enforcing penal provisions under section-20.

The Information Seekers feel they were pushed to dead end. There is a common feeling that no appeal lies against decision of State Information Commissioner. Let us examine it.

Don't we have the right to know about the PM Care Funds?

The Prime Minister’s Office has consistently refused to divulge any info about the PM-CARES (Prime Minister’s Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations) Fund’s spendings, citing that it is not a “public authority” under the RTI Act, 2005.

The Human Rights Commission has warned that the federal government's growing reliance on artificial intelligence and automated decisions is dangerous and will increasingly put vulnerable Australians at risk.

Releasing new research on Australians' attitudes on the use of artificial intelligence, Human Rights Commissioner Edward Santow has urged the government to overhaul its approach to the emerging technology to avoid another scandal like the "robo-debt" scheme that unlawfully calculated and pursued debts from welfare recipients.

CHENNAI: The Reserve Bank of India is planning to extend the moratorium for bank loans by six more months (September to February), the counsel for RBI has told the Madras High Court.

Justices M M Sundresh and R Hemalatha on Wednesday were hearing a PIL from All India Democratic Women’s Association State general secretary S Suganthi.

She prayed for a direction to the State government and the RBI to appoint special officers in all districts to take action on complaints against micro-finance institutions that were harassing members of Self-Help Groups to repay loan amounts even during the moratorium period.

The RBI counsel told that there is a proposal to extend the moratorium. A panel has been constituted for it, he added and prayed for more time to look into the PIL. Court adjourned the matter till September 8.
People are Suffering a lot with financial crisis but the banks/financing institutions are harrasing them like hell.

It's best to extend the moratorium for next 6months aa everyone could come out from financial crisis.
