๐Ÿšจ WHY IS MANIPUR BROADCAST BLOCKED IN INDIA?

Manipur Broadcast page has reportedly been blocked in India at a time when the page has been consistently raising questions about the realities, hardships and injustices unfolding in Manipur and across the country.

This raises some very serious questions.

Is Facebook becoming a political tool in India?

Is Facebook bowing to the pressure or commands of the BJP Government?

Are voices that question the Government and expose alleged injustice being deliberately suppressed?

If a social media platform restricts or blocks a page simply because it raises uncomfortable questions about those in power, what happens to freedom of expression and the democratic right to dissent?

A democracy cannot survive on applause alone. Citizens must have the freedom to question their Government, demand accountability and speak against injustice without fear of being silenced.

If citizens cannot raise their voice against injustice by those in power, then whom are they supposed to raise their voice against?

We may disagree with each other politically. We may have different opinions and perspectives. But disagreement should never become a reason to silence someone.

Manipur Broadcast will continue to stand for the right to question, the right to speak and the right to demand accountability.

This is not merely about one page.

This is about the fundamental question of whether ordinary citizens still have the freedom to speak truth to power.

๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณ Democracy means the Government must be answerable to the people โ€” not the people being afraid to question the Government.

๐Ÿ“๐Ÿ‘‰ URGENT | Hungpung Village | 25 July 2026

Four civilians from Hungpung Village were reportedly arrested by the Assam Rifles at around 5:30 PM while working in their paddy fields. According to local residents, they are ordinary cultivators, and no reason for their detention has been disclosed.

When villagers gathered to seek their release, Assam Rifles reportedly fired several rounds to disperse the crowd. Despite the intimidation, the people stood their ground, demanding the safe release of the four innocent civilians and an explanation for their arrest.

This incident raises serious questions. If these men are innocent farmers, why were they arrested while working in their own fields? Their families and the people of Hungpung deserve answers.

Many people are also asking why ordinary Naga civilians appear to face arrests while there is a widespread perception that Kuki militants are often released or treated differently. These concerns deserve a transparent and impartial response from the authorities.

We appeal to the concerned authorities to intervene immediately, ensure the safety of all civilians, uphold due process, and clarify the reasons behind these arrests.

Please share this widely so that this issue reaches the concerned authorities. Justice, transparency, and equal treatment under the law must prevail. ๐Ÿ™

๐Ÿ“๐Ÿ‘‰ The United Naga Council has once again taken a firm stand against what it describes as the Government of Manipur's continued insincerity and deceptive handling of the Autonomous District Council (ADC) issue.

According to the UNC, any attempt to push the rejected 6th and 7th Amendments to the Manipur (Hill Areas) District Council Act, 2022 through a backdoor ordinance is an assault on the democratic will of the Naga people and the tribal communities. The Council has made it clear that these amendments have already been rejected and that any unilateral move to impose them will only deepen mistrust and could lead to serious social unrest, for which the Government must bear full responsibility.

The UNC also reminded the Government that the tripartite talks involving the Government of India, the Government of Manipur, and the United Naga Council on the district rollback issue remain unfinished. Instead of undermining the dialogue process through unconstitutional manoeuvres, the Government must honour its commitment by presenting a concrete proposal and demonstrating sincerity.

The Council further criticised what it called the BJP-led Government's politics of double standards and stage management, accusing it of creating crises only to project itself as the saviour. Such tactics, it stated, have already been exposed before the people.

The message is unequivocal: Respect the democratic mandate of the tribal people. Honour the ongoing dialogue process. Uphold local self governance. Any attempt to bypass the people's voice through imposed legislation will not be accepted.

๐Ÿ“๐Ÿ‘‰ The six Naga hostages who were brutally killed by KNF-P Kuki militants also deserve justice, not political theatrics.

Arrest all the members of the KNF-P, whose founder is the husband of Deputy Chief Minister Nemcha Kipgen. They must be investigated impartially, and anyone found responsible must be held accountable. Justice, not political point-scoring, is what the victims' families deserve.
