Shri Rajiv Wangsa, Prospective ZPM Candidate of Longchan Block, calls upon the public to maintain peace during the election in Longchan Circle.

10/11/2025

The Honourable Court has declared that physiotherapists are not entitled to use the title โ€œDoctorโ€ (Dr.) before their names. The Court observed that the use of this title is reserved for individuals who have obtained degrees in medicine such as MBBS, BDS, or equivalent qualifications recognized by the Medical Council of India (now NMC). While physiotherapists play a vital role in patient rehabilitation and allied health services, their qualificationโ€”being paramedical or allied health in natureโ€”does not confer upon them the right to assume the medical title. The judgment aims to prevent public confusion and ensure that patients can clearly distinguish between registered medical practitioners and allied health professionals. The Court further emphasized that physiotherapists should use their designated professional titles, such as โ€œPhysiotherapistโ€ or โ€œPT,โ€ in accordance with ethical and legal standards.
