Pride of Kamle: Dr. Joyir Siram Murtem Awarded Ph.D. for Research on Digitization of Nyishi Language
Dr. Joyir Siram Murtem, daughter of Lt. Bijoy Siram and Smty. Azo Siram and wife of Shri Tana Murtem, senior Audit Officer, has been awarded a Ph.D. in Computer Science & Engineering for her thesis titled "Part of Speech Tagging of Nyishi Language." She received the degree at the 12th Convocation of National Institute of Technology Arunachal Pradesh on February 20, 2026.
Dr. Murtem studied at Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya Itanagar, completed her B.Tech from BV Bhoomaraddi College of Engineering & Technology, Karnataka, and earned her M.Tech from Rajiv Gandhi University.
Her research contributes to developing and preserving the Nyishi language using computer technology. She is currently working as a Lecturer at Rajiv Gandhi Government Polytechnic.
Her achievement has brought pride to her family and the Kamle district and serves as an inspiration for young students.
