“Make it modern” is not a design brief.
It is a feeling, not a direction.
Modern can mean many things:
- Minimal.
- Premium.
- Clean.
- Trendy.
- Simple.
Conversion-focused.
But good design needs more than a style preference.
Before starting, the brief should clarify:
- Who is the user?
- What problem are we solving?
- What action should the user take?
- What business goal should the design support?
- How will success be measured?
Because unclear briefs create unclear outcomes.
Good design starts with clarity, not style.
Before asking for modern design, define what success should look like.
