A major study published in JACC: Heart Failure in 2023 found that *loneliness* (and social isolation) can increase the risk of hospitalization or death from heart failure by 15% to 20%.

Dutch designer Jip van Leeuwenstein created "Surveillance Exclusion," a transparent, lens-shaped mask that blocks AI facial recognition systems from all angles while remaining transparent to human eyes.
Developed at the Utrecht School of the Arts, it warps facial features (nose, jawline, eye spacing) to confuse algorithms.
Although created a few years ago, the design has resurfaced in technology and privacy forums as a controversial tool against digital tracking.
